4 potatoes, sliced or cut into cubes
2 cloves of garlic, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup buttermilk or sour cream (about 1/4 cup)
1/3 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 Tablespoon fresh chives, choppedPlace potatoes and garlic in large saucepan. Add enough water to cover.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Boil gently for 15 to 20 minutes - until potatoes break apart easily when pierced with a fork. Drain well.
Mash potatoes and garlic coarsely with back of spoon or masher. Leave some potato pieces in chunks.
Add remaining ingredients and mix gently.
