Garlic Buttered Bread Sticks 1 loaf [ 1 pound, 454 g ] frozen white bread dough, or pizza dough, thawed 1/4 cup garlic or Italian herb butter, melted* 1 egg yolk On lightly floured board, roll dough out into a 12 x 8 inch rectangle. If dough is too springy to stay in place, let rest 5 minutes. Cut dough lengthwise into 1/2 inch strips. With floured hands, twist and shape the dough strips into squiggles. Loop, curl or knot at one end and place strips about 1/2 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Combine butter and egg yolk. Brush over sticks. Bake in 400 degree F. oven for 20 minutes, or until golden. Cool on wire racks. Makes 16 bread sticks. *if flavored butter is not available, you can make your own, by adding garlic salt or powder, or Italian seasoning to regular, melted butter
